I am a licensed agent for Travel Guard Insurance. Due to the recent outbreak of swine flu I am again strongly recommending Cancel for Any Reason Protect Assist Trip Insurance. Purchase within 15 days of your first payment for the best coverage. There is no reported Swine Flu in Anguilla. I have seen many clients lose significant money when they would not have had they purchased trip insurance. Most clients save all year for their two weeks in paradise. Surely the investment is worth the added protection of trip insurance. Hurricane season commences in June. If you are headed to the Caribbean it is even more prudent to be covered. April 28, 2009Our Favorites on Anguilla

My Antiguan daughter and I fell in love with just about everything on Anguilla. We love the Caribbean and were so excited to try a new island. Of course a start to our holiday in French St. Martin did not hurt. We ate French pastries, bought her prom dress at a little trendy boutique and I got my hair done. The ferry over was glorious under the warm sun with the Caribbean blue, phew. Once we got to Anguilla we immediately sought out the beach. My friend Mark spoke accolades about the beaches and he lives on another island with fabulous beaches so I was anxious to see what gives. Sure enough the first beach we encountered on Anguilla was Meade’s Bay. Our condo was situated on Meade’s Bay so we were in constant view of a long strand of white powder and azure blue sea. The sunsets were pretty special as well. Surreal is the word that describes this beach. We spent hours swimming in the crystal clear water. It was incredible. Meade’s Bay was easily our favorite beach.
Sunday lunch was spent at Gwen’s on Shoal Bay East. This popular day tripper spot has a few bars, restaurants and hotels. Gwen’s is notorious for her Sunday BBQ and beach bash. We were there a few hours shy of the big happenings but we had a lovely lunch. We had fresh fish sandwiches and our favorite Caribbean soda, Ting. If you have not had Ting, you have not lived. Ting is a refreshing not too sweet grapefruit soda. We love it. Teamed with Gwen’s lovely fish sandwich and we were in heaven. Of course the views of Shoal Bay East were lovely and the trades blowing made it truly enjoyable.

Dune Preserve was our all time favorite spent on a late Sunday at Rendezvous Bay. Owned by famous singer, Bankie Banks this lovely seaside complex features bars, beach and great food prepared under the watchful eyes of Dale Carty. We had what else but Ting, grilled lobster and salads. The music was amazing and everyone was so friendly. Bankie has an annual musical festival called Moonsplash in March. I hope to go one day. Bring some cat food as there are many felines around. Hope they are all spayed.
I’d love to hear your favorites on Anguilla.
Cheers
